Bio

Storyteller

Mischa Temaul was born in Georgetown, Guyana (formerly known as British Guiana). She graduated from the University of South Florida with honours, majoring in Creative Writing and has a lifelong flair for multicultural and faith-based storytelling. Mischa is the founder and editor-in-chief of Global FashionFlair magazine; she created the publication after noticing a lack of representation in mainstream teen media, aiming to celebrate diversity and beauty in all shapes and sizes. Two of her articles have been published in a local community magazine. Other fun facts: she is an avid animal lover, been featured on a billboard for Straz Center, makes the BEST vegan lasagna, and had a pet rooster named Sparky. She is currently working on her second young adult novel, which follows a young Guyanese girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut. In addition, she is working on her first PB book to be queried (Mr. Jams & the Black Kitten), a heart-warming story of a grumpy old Jamaican man with bushy eyebrows and a bothersome little Guyanese girl. Mischa’s ultimate goal and dream is to become a best-selling author.

Forced to navigate the vibrant, chaotic streets of Mumbai, Ellie is goaded into a high-stakes Bollywood dance competition that challenges everything she knows about herself. NAMASTE INDIA! is Clueless meets Bollywood—a comical, heart-filled journey of identity rooted in a unique Guyanese-Indian perspective.
