Global FashionFlare Magazine

Hi Guys!

If you've ever read my bio or checked out my random bio on my website, you'll find that I'm the founder and creator of Global FashionFlare Magazine. It was a magazine I founded back in May 2010.

If you're asking or wondering the question: what inspired me to create Global FashionFlare?--I've copied and pasted my answer below that I had given when interviewed about the magazine during its initial launch:

I’ve actually wanted to create my own magazine for a long time now – I believe it was back in maybe 2007 or 2008 that the idea came to me about creating a magazine; however, I never follow through with my plan. The main reason for wanting to create my own magazine was because the magazine I subscribed to kept on featuring the same cover models over and over again; I would constantly leave comments on their page about changing things up and putting someone else of different cultural background on their cover because it isn’t just ONE group of people reading the magazine. I just called it quits with them after they featured this one celebrity on their cover for the fourth time. It was then the idea of creating a magazine came back to me, so I contacted a few of my friends and told them my idea. I began brainstorming for the perfect magazine name when I came up with “Global FashionFlare.” The name of the magazine defines the fashions from every country; however, it doesn’t focus solely on fashion, but the cultures and traditions of each country as well.

I have to admit reading that interview and my responses were intriguing. Certain things have changed--I'm obviously no longer into the Harry Potter state-of-mind after surrendering my life to Christ and reading in His Word regarding witchcraft and all that nonsense, besties have changed, still love KPop (though I don't keep up with it as I used to before--plus, I've become more intrigued with Korean Christian music), would still love to model in Seoul or Tyoko (4'11's Club!) and I'm still weird as ever LOL.

The magazine hasn't been updated in a really long time due to the fact that I'm the only one on staff. It got a bit difficult juggling everything by myself--I actually have the 7th issue still in my folder that I never got to finishing up to publish. There were three additional articles I included last-minute...one was about BTS, one about recycling materials used in fashion, and the other I think was about a vegan restaurant. This was back in either 2017 or 2018 so I'm not sure BUT I just never got around to finishing everything.

In addition, I was working on my novel since I had finally gotten the book rights back from those shady publishers. I made the decision to put the magazine on hiatus while I focused on my manuscript.

I definitely would love to get Global FashionFlare off the hiatus status. However, if I'm going to do so, the center of it has to be about God. Therefore, certain contents will probably have to be changed and/or be added. The thought of renaming the magazine is on my mind as well--I was considering "Global Missionaries Magazine" as the new name. I would like to keep it fashion-focused while highlighting other countries as the theme, but I'm going to have to find individuals that are using their love for fashion to give God glory and praise.

These are just some of the things running through my mind, but I know if I'm going to take the magazine off hiatus and begin publishing it again, I first have to pray about it and ask God to direct my path. I'm excited about the idea though because essentially it is another platform I'm being given to share God's Words.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding this!

Stay safe & God Bless.

Kindest Regards, Mischa
